Kelly Brush Foundation

KBF Ski Racing Safety
Opens Apr 16 2026 12:01 AM (EDT)
Deadline Jun 26 2026 11:59 PM (EDT)
Description

The KBF helps alpine ski clubs around the country purchase safety equipment like netting and padding, and also contributes to venue improvement initiatives. Funding requests are reviewed through an annual grant cycle with an application process. Applications for our 2026 grants will be accepted as of late spring 2026.

KBF Ski Racing Safety Equipment Grants are all matching grants–meaning that any grant awarded by the Kelly Brush Foundation will need to be matched by the ski club. We expect that clubs will join us in making safety a priority by fundraising or finding room in their budget for safety.

Eligibility

The KBF provides grants to help ski clubs purchase safety equipment. Over the past decade, the Kelly Brush Foundation has purchased thousands of rolls of b-netting, supported trail widening projects, and helped with the purchase of other safety equipment.

In order to qualify for a grant, an applicant must:

  • Be located in the United States
  • Provide proof of USSA/FIS homologation of their main race trail (email us below before applying if you do not have a homologated trail)
  • Provide quotes from equipment vendors
  • Provide financial and organizational documents
  • Answer all application questions thoroughly and thoughtfully

Our grants are all matching grants–meaning that any grant awarded by the Kelly Brush Foundation will need to be matched by the ski club. We expect that clubs will join us in making safety a priority by fundraising or finding room in their budget for safety.

Applicants are eligible to apply for funding on a semi-annual basis; if your club received funding in 2025, you will not be eligible for funding in 2026 but may apply again in 2027.
